This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for refurbishing used unites by using cleaning products, re-working parts, and fitting new parts. Has the ability to work on all types of units rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintains accuracy of product by following blueprints, specifications, work orders and known practices.
- Remove drawers, doors, tanks, wiring and pipes to gain access to the body and repair.
- Operates equipment such as hand buffer, power tools, pressure washer and more in a safe manner.
- Clean units, parts and other equipment using pressure cleaner, cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths.
- Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Fabricate or form parts, or structures according to specifications or repairs needed, using drills, calipers, cutters or other tools.
- Prime and paint repaired surfaces, using paint spray guns and motorized sanders.
- Move finished assemblies for shipment and transport them to storage areas, using hoists or pallet jacks.
- Reports hazards associated with the equipment or its operation to the Safety Director and Production Supervisor and Manager.
- Performs inventory for area quarterly.
- Maintains a level of output that will minimize production delays.
- Communicates effectively with other workers to coordinate workflow.
- Assists other individuals in any department when needed.
- Assists in housekeeping items and clean work area daily by sweeping and putting away tools and other items.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Good communication skills relative to supervisor and other related departments.
- Knowledge of wiring techniques and problem-solving skills preferred.
- Math skills including good understanding of fractions.
- Ability to lift, up to 50 pounds.
